How many lives have you lived?

Today’s literary quote is from Katherine Mansfield, a New Zealand short story writer:

Would you not like to try all sorts of lives – one is so very small – but that is the satisfaction of writing – one can impersonate so many people.

Most recently, I impersonated a woman in a post-apocalyptic world who murders her son. The No Fun Book Club has decided to read Vladimir Nabokov’s Laughter in the Dark for the next time around, and impersonate Albinus after he abandons his wife. Who are you impersonating these days?
